Back At Christmas Time Elevenses Threw Eleven Quick Questions at The Showdown's Josh Childers!

Josh Childers is the guitarist for the much praised Southern Christian Metalcore band The Showdown. They played on last summer's Ozzfest and are currently touring with Shadows Fall. Their new album entitled "Back Breaker" is expected to be released this fall.

Josh plays Dean Guitars.

So what’s your drink of choice at 11am in the morning?

Coffee, black.

Which song/album really made you want to play guitar?

...and justice for all - Metallica. Maybe not the best songwriting in the world, but the riffs... some of the best ever written.

Who’s the world’s greatest guitarist?

Dimebag Darrell - R.I.P.

Who’s the world’s most underrated guitarist?

Pepper Keenan or James Hetfield.

So what are you up to at the moment?

Taking a break from writing.

(Josh has infact recorded The Showdown's latest album since this interview - hey, but better late than never we say!!!)

What was the last gig you went to (as a member of the audience)?
Who would be in your dream line-up?

Machine Head, Arch Enemy, Throwdown and Sanctity.

James Hetfield - vocals and guitar

Pepper Keenan - guitar

Rex Brown - bass

Vinnie Paul - drums

How many guitars do your own and which one is ‘your precious’?

8 I believe. The precious would have to be the Dean Rebel or the Gibson V.

What’s the last great album that you bought (or were given)?

The new High On Fre is rad, as is the new Down record.

Do you suffer from stage fright?

Not after three years of touring.

So what’s your drink of choice at 11pm in the evening?

Whiskey on the Rocks!
