Tolis Zavaliaris
Tolis Zavaliaris was born in Orestiada a small town in northern Greece. In 2001 he relocated from Greece to London where he studied the three year degree program at the London Guitar Institute. After his graduation he was invited to join the Institute as tutor and lecturer.
His Greek background helped him to develop an enormous style incorporating jazz, rock and ethnic elements in his guitar playing. In May 2004 Tolis won the "London Guitar Hero" competition which took place at the Wembley Conference Centre. Experienced session guitarist/song writer/producer, he has worked with some of the top producers in London such as Peter Greenwell (Flop-Star), Benny D
(Depeche Mode), John Robertson (Morcheeba), David Crefield (Kaiser Chiefs) to name a few.
Tolis is also an official regular contributor of the world famous “Guitar Techniques Magazine”.
In the beginning of 2007, Tolis released his debut solo album "Sounds of the past". It is a mixture of Eastern and Western European sounds in a modern jazz fusion approach.
