A relative newcomer to the guitar scene, Jay has quickly built up a reputation as a world class player. Jay picked up the guitar at the relatively late age of 16, but this self taught guitarist’s passion for playing quickly turned into 3 hours of practice a day. The catalyst for wanting to play was Iron Maiden, but Jay soon discovered the plethora of phenomenal guitar players that were on the scene at the time.

Listened to Jake E. Lee, Steve Vai and the light-speed playing for Yngwie Malmsteen gave a great grounding for where guitar playing had been taken in 80s, but it was when Jay heard the song “Kiss of Death” by LA Band “Dokken” that he was stopped in his stride. George Lynch’s playing was mesmerizing and George quickly became Jay’s favourite player and primary influence.

Since then has been moulding his playing and the influence from George Lynch is deeply rooted in his sound and style. Other influences include Steve Vai, Steve Stevens, Warren Dimartini, Jeff Tyson, Queensryche as well as numerous of other guitarists.

Jay is not just a speed demon. Feel plays a huge part in the music that he produces. This is combined with some fiery exotic and eastern sounds to create his own signature sound and playing style.

Jay has working in various bands since the early 90’s and became a solo artist in 2000 after attending a part time course at the London Guitar Institute. His name came to the forefront in 2003 when he took the helm and produced and released “Will Play For Lynch – A George Lynch Tribute”. He also contributed songs to the album, which included a cover of Lynch’s much acclaimed “Mr. Scary” (which was highly praised by George Lynch himself).

This was followed up in 2005 with Jay’s first instrumental album “Strange Day”. Receiving great reviews and having made an impact, Jay has continued to record and work on numerous projects and is currently working on a new album which is due for completion by the end of 2007.

Now a full time musician, producer, music teacher Jay is seldom far from a guitar…

Jay is endorsed by and uses Randall USA Amplifiers, Bare Knuckle Pickups and Elixir Strings.
